Two questions arise from this study. Did the gene therapy work at all in fixing the bone marrow so it can produce white blood cells? And does this method avoid immune response because the cells are genetically identical to those of the patient? We wouldn't expect an answer to that question, but wait. Both of these questions are impacted by environmental factors. REMEMBER - you are the product of your genes AND your environment.
