In 2000, scientists announced that they'd cured three babies by gene
therapy on their bone marrow. But this past month, one of the patients
has developed a disease that resembles Leukemia, cancer of the white blood
cells. All clinical trials have obviously been stopped. I'm not going to
go into why now because you'll hear all about cancer next week, but the
virus used in the trial may be to blame.
